FAQs
Who is Metabilia?+
Metabilia (I Got It Holdings Corporation) is a technology-focused sports memorabilia company that partners with leading NFL teams and collegiate athletic programs. Metabilia distributes collectibles through official NFL Team Apps (including teams such as the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Rams). We source memorabilia directly from teams under exclusive, long-term agreements and also work directly with athletes.
How do I make a purchase?+
Metabilia collectibles may be offered through auctions, fixed “Buy Now” listings, or mystery boxes. To make a purchase or place a bid, users must create an account and provide a valid credit card. All bids and purchase orders are binding. Refunds are only available under limited circumstances.
What payment methods are accepted?+
All major credit cards are currently accepted.
How do I sell an item?+
Items marked as resellable or tradeable physical collectibles may be resold on the Metabilia Marketplace. Owners can list items for sale by navigating to My Items, selecting the collectible, and choosing Offer for Sale. Sellers must set a price and duration for the listing. Once confirmed, listings are binding and cannot be canceled.
What is the refund policy?+
Refunds may be granted on a limited basis if an item is not delivered in a timely manner or arrives damaged. Refund requests must be submitted within 24 hours of receiving the item by emailing refunds@metabilia.io. Customers are responsible for returning damaged or defective items, including associated shipping costs.
How long do auctions last?+
Auction durations vary. Auctions may run for as little as a few minutes or as long as several days, depending on the listing.
How does a traditional auction work?+
Traditional auctions have preset start and end times, a starting bid, and may include a reserve price. Each bid increases the minimum next bid by a preset increment. Users must confirm each bid before submission. When the auction ends, the highest bidder wins and their credit card is automatically charged.
What is a Flash Auction?+
A Flash Auction is a fast-paced auction format where users enter successive rounds at increasing price levels. Participants must actively opt into each new round. The auction continues until only one bidder remains. If multiple bidders remain in the final round, the first user to have entered that round is declared the winner. Only the winning bidder is charged.
What is the Sniping Window?+
The Sniping Window is an anti-sniping feature used in traditional auctions. If a bid is placed near the auction’s scheduled end, the auction time is automatically extended by a preset increment. This ensures all interested bidders have a fair opportunity to respond.
Are there payment processing fees?+
A payment processing fee may be charged to help offset the costs imposed by third-party payment processors.
Why did my payment fail?+
Payment failures may occur if your financial institution flags the transaction for fraud prevention or if there are insufficient funds available. You may resolve this by using another payment method or contacting your bank.
How do taxes work?+
Metabilia complies with all applicable federal, state, and local tax laws. Users are responsible for determining their own tax obligations and should consult a tax professional if needed. Sales tax is calculated automatically based on the shipping address provided.
What are the Marketplace fees?+
When buying or selling collectibles on the Marketplace, a transaction fee is charged by Metabilia. Fees are disclosed in the item listing and are currently capped at a maximum of 10.0%.
What is the Metabilia CryptoLedger?+
The Metabilia CryptoLedger is an immutable, cryptographically secured transaction ledger built on Amazon Quantum Ledger Database (QLDB). It records ownership and transaction history for tradeable physical collectibles. The ledger is append-only, tamper-resistant, and provides transparent proof of provenance.
How is the Metabilia CryptoLedger different from a public blockchain?+
While the CryptoLedger offers immutability, transparency, and verifiable ownership similar to public blockchains, it does not rely on cryptocurrency wallets. This allows users to benefit from blockchain-like security without the complexity of managing digital wallets.
What is the Metabilia Verification Program (MVP)?+
The Metabilia Verification Program (MVP) is Metabilia’s proprietary authentication framework designed to link physical memorabilia to a secure digital record. MVP may include the application of a unique, tamper-evident physical identifier to an item, along with digital records that document provenance, ownership, and related metadata.
What is the physical authentication tag used by Metabilia?+
Certain Metabilia-verified items may include a discreet, tamper-evident physical tag engineered using advanced materials. Metabilia has an exclusive license from Dust Identity to use tamper-evident security tags engineered with microscopic diamond particles embedded in high-performance materials. Each tag contains a unique, unclonable microscopic pattern that functions like a fingerprint. Because no two patterns are the same and the structure cannot be practically replicated, the tag helps deter counterfeiting, substitution, or unauthorized alteration of the item.
Can Metabilia authentication be removed or altered?+
The tag is discreetly applied directly to the memorabilia and is designed to be durable, covert, and resistant to removal or tampering. Any attempt to alter or remove the tag may compromise the item’s verification status.
What metadata is associated with a verified collectible?+
Metadata associated with a collectible may include information such as sourcing details, transaction history, certificates of authenticity, photo matching, and other contextual data. This metadata is permanently linked to the item’s digital record and may enhance transparency and resale value. For eligible items, this information is stored in the Metabilia CryptoLedger, an immutable, cryptographically verifiable transaction log powered by Amazon Web Services Quantum Ledger Database (QLDB).
Can I use Metabilia if I am under 18?+
No. Metabilia’s products and services are available only to users who are 18 years of age or older.
How does identity verification work?+
Identity verification is completed through integrated third-party service providers. Only verified users may sell items on the Marketplace, and payouts are enabled only after completing Stripe’s seller onboarding process.
When will I need to verify my identity?+
Users are required to verify their identity when attempting to sell an item or request a payout. Metabilia reserves the right to request additional verification documentation when necessary.
Why do I need to verify my identity?+
Identity verification helps protect users and reduces fraudulent activity across the platform.
