Philadelphia Wings Signed Handcrafted Wood Stick

Lacrosse is the oldest continuously played team sport in North America. The wooden stick is its centerpiece, handcrafted by the ancestors of the game, members of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy.

This season, we are proud to offer a wooden stick signed by the Philadelphia Wings. The sticks were handcrafted by Indigenous artisans Delby Powless and Tuscarora Woodworks. The artistry, paired with the names written on it, makes this more than a collectible. It is a connection between the game’s origin and those who play it today.

The proceeds from this auction will benefit the Indigenous Athletics Advancement Council, host of the Native Student-Athlete Summit. The Summit centers the experiences, access and opportunities of Native student-athletes within collegiate athletics and beyond. Over the course of three days, Native student-athletes and administrators engage in culturally relevant and applicable educational experiences that affirm identity, strengthen community and support future success. The second annual Summit will be held in Lawrence, Kansas, from June 2 to 4 in partnership with the University of Kansas and Haskell Indian Nations University.
